Milwaukee Brewers Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Uecker was on The Dan Patrick Show Friday to tell stories of his storied career in media, but also to share his thoughts on how the pandemic is affecting baseball.
In regards to the coronavirus, Uecker says he's very concerned about the impacts, particularly on employees furloughed in baseball.
On a lighter note, Uecker, in his 65th season in baseball, spent much of the interview telling stories about how he ended up in various roles during his career, including how he became the Milwaukee Brewers' announcer in 1971.
Uecker got his Mr. Baseball nickname from Johnny Carson, and told Dan that he's got some great artifacts and photos from his time on the show. Uecker also shared how he got the role of Harry Doyle in Major League, which was apparently mostly by accident.
On his batting average, Uecker said he didn't want to show up all the other stars batting over .200.
