Orlando Arcia's three-run base hit in the top of the fourth inning pushed the Brewers ahead for good as Milwaukee went on to win 5-3 on Thursday afternoon over the Cincinnati Reds.
Ben Gamel added an RBI to make it a four-run fourth inning for the Brewers, who are now one game back of St. Louis in the NL Central with three games to play.
Josh Hader completed a four-out save, getting out of a bases-loaded jam in the eighth inning to help Milwaukee secure the victory. Chase Anderson allowed five hits and one run across five innings in his start.
Milwaukee plays at Colorado, their opponent last year in the NLDS, for the final three games of the regular season.
