Things got tense late in Milwaukee's 4-3 win over Pittsburgh, but the Brewers were able to hang on to force a tie atop the Wild Card standings with the Washington Nationals.
Milwaukee led 4-0 going into the top of the eighth, but Pittsburgh was able to add three runs in the frame to draw within one run. Josh Hader completed a four-out save to preserve the victory.
Eric Thames hit two home runs and Orlando Arcia added another to power the Brewers to a key victory as Milwaukee chases a playoff spot.
Milwaukee entered the day three games up on the Cubs for the final National League playoff spot.
