On Saturday, the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 10-1 and reduced their magic number to 5.
Trent Grisham and Lorenzo Cain each had three hits to lead the Brewers offense, while Keston Hiura added a home run to help Milwaukee pull away.
Zach Davies threw four scoreless innings, while five other pitchers, including Jimmy Nelson, combined with Davies to allow six hits and one unearned run in the victory.
With eight games to play, the Brewers clinch a playoff spot with any combination of five wins or Cubs losses.
The three-game series with the Pirates wraps up Sunday, the final regular-season home game of 2019 for the Brewers.
