Trent Grisham tied the Brewers' rookie record for hits in a game with five, including a double, a triple, and three singles, as Milwaukee won its fourth game in a row, defeating the Marlins in Miami 8-3 on Monday night.
Grisham and Lorenzo Cain combined for eight of the Brewers' dozen hits in the victory.
Jordan Lyles got the start and went four and one-third innings, allowing just one run.
With the Cubs playing late, the Brewers were only able to move a half game up on Arizona and a full game past Philadelphia in the chase for the final Wild Card spot, which at game's end was 1.5 games behind the Chicago Cubs with 19 to play.
