On Saturday, the Milwaukee Brewers made three roster moves. Pitcher Jhoulys Chacin was designated for assignment after recording a career-high ERA of 5.79 in 88 2/3 innings pitched this season, while Ben Gamel was optioned to Triple-A. The Brewers also called up Cory Spangenberg.
Chacin, 31, pitched 281 1/3 innings total in his time with the Brewers during the regular season, recording a 4.22 ERA. He had a 1.46 ERA in 12 1/3 postseason innings in 2018.
Gamel, 27, has an OPS of .706 in 291 plate appearances this season.
Spangenberg, 28, has an OPS of .876 in 476 plate appearances at Triple-A San Antonio in 2019.
