Travis Shaw is reportedly on his way back up to the big league club. The Athletic reported Thursday that Shaw would be recalled from Triple-A San Antonio ahead of the Brewers' weekend series with the Cubs.
Since his demotion, Shaw has seemingly found his stroke, hitting eight home runs in just 77 plate appearances and batting well north of .300. For the season in Triple-A, Shaw is batting .286 with an OPS of 1.039. However, in the majors, Shaw batted just .164 with an OPS of .568.
in just 65 plate appearances, the man ahead of him in the infield, Tyler Saladino, has batted just .133 with two grand slams included in his eight hits.
The corresponding roster move appears to be Jhoulys Chacin heading to the injured list, but no moves were officially announced Thursday.
