Milwaukee Brewers All-Star pitcher Brandon Woodruff will miss about six weeks with his oblique injury, according to manager Craig Counsell. That puts Woodruff on track for a September return.
Woodruff, who made his first All-Star Game in 2019 as an injury replacement for fellow Brewers pitcher Josh Hader, is 11-3 in 2019.
Woodruff was pulled from the win over Arizona on Sunday after he "felt something pull" and after the game expressed frustration that he would have to be shelved for a bit.
In a corresponding roster move to place Woodruff on the Injured List, the Brewers recalled reliever Burch Smith.
