A 6-1 lead in the bottom of the ninth didn't hold up for the Brewers on Friday night in Pittsburgh, but Milwaukee still came out on top in 10 innings.
Milwaukee's five-run lead in the ninth inning was erased by Pittsburgh, but in extra innings, Lorenzo Cain's RBI single gave the Brewers a 7-6 lead in the 10th inning that held as the Crew picked up a win the hard way.
Zach Davies pitched five innings, allowing just one run, and the bullpen held intact until the ninth inning. That's when Deolis Guerra gave up four runs and Junior Guerra allowed the tying run to send the game to extra innings.
The three-game series continues Saturday night in Pittsburgh.
