Christian Yelich's two-out double in the sixth inning was one of just four hits for the Milwaukee Brewers in a 2-0 loss to the San Diego Padres on Monday night.
It was the only extra-base hit of the contest for the Brewers, who are still in first place by a half-game on the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central.
Jhoulys Chacin gave up two runs as he pitched into the fifth inning and took the loss in his return from the injured list.
Game two of the three-game series is Tuesday night in San Diego. Brandon Woodruff faces Logan Allen.
