Ryan Braun hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning to snap a 1-1 tie, and Josh Hader closed out a 3-1 win for the Milwaukee Brewers over the New York Mets at Miller Park on Friday night.
Brandon Woodruff pitched five solid innings, Alex Claudio and Junior Guerra each had spotless innings, and Josh Hader got six outs, five by the way of strikeout, as the pitching buoyed the Brewers.
Lorenzo Cain also hit a solo home run, in the first inning, to aid the Brewers' scoring.
The three-game series continues Saturday and Sunday at Miller Park.
