Milwaukee's 4-3 lead after five innings evaporated as the Colorado Rockies put up eight unanswered runs on the Brewers, winning 11-4 on Wednesday night at Miller Park.
Nolan Arenado hit a pair of home runs as the Rockies won for the first time in the four-game series, which will wrap up Thursday afternoon at Miller Park.
The Brewers were dealt a surprise before the game, when it was revealed Chase Anderson would have to go on the injured list with a cut on his pitching hand. So, Jacob Barnes made the start, and gave up three runs in the first inning. In the sixth, Corbin Burnes, who was sent to the minors earlier this season after falling out of the rotation, gave up the go-ahead runs in the sixth inning, and Milwaukee's bullpen day fell apart quickly afterwards.
The teams combined to use 13 pitchers.
