The New York Mets broke a 2-2 tie against the Brewers in the 7th inning and tacked on insurance runs in the 8th inning to defeat Milwaukee 5-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Gio Gonzalez went five innings for the Brewers in his first start, allowing six hits and two runs. The bullpen combined for three innings of work, with Aaron Wilkerson getting touched up for two runs late in the loss.
Mike Moustakas homered for the only Brewers runs, in the top of the seventh, one of just five hits for Milwaukee.
A 10-game homestand begins for Milwaukee Monday night as the Brewers host the Rockies in a rematch of their NLDS series from last year.
