Ken Rosenthal reports that the Milwaukee Brewers have signed free-agent pitcher Gio Gonzalez to a one-year, $2 million deal.
After being acquired from Washington late in the season last year, Gonzalez appeared in five regular-season games with Milwaukee, notching a 2.13 ERA in 25.1 innings pitched.
Gonzalez also pitched three innings in the NLCS against Los Angeles, facing 15 batters total across two games.
The move comes with the Brewers reeling, having lost six of their past seven games entering Wednesday afternoon's contest with St. Louis.
