Cardinals down Brewers 13-5 on Monday night

A seven-run seventh inning powered the St. Louis Cardinals past the Milwaukee Brewers 13-5 on Monday night. The loss drops the Brewers to third place in the NL Central.

Ryan Braun, Travis Shaw, Yasmani Grandal, and Hernan Perez all homered for the Brewers in the loss.

Adrian Houser, called up to make the start, gave up nine hits and five runs over four innings. Jacob Barnes lasted just one out, giving up five runs, while Aaron Wilkerson came in to close out the game for Milwaukee, allowing three more in one and two-thirds innings pitched.

Game 2 of the three-game series is Tuesday night in St. Louis. Zach Davies will start for the Brewers.
