We've reached mid-season in high school basketball. With plenty of conference games to come, where do things stand?
Big Eight
LAST WEEK: Middleton played a non-conference game against Racine Horlick, an easy 85-56 win. Tyree Eady and Storm Murphy combined for 58 points... Sun Prairie won the DeForest Tournament, defeating DeForest and Appleton West... Madison Memorial won the Kingdom of the Sun Tournament in Ocala, Florida over the break, defeating teams from four different states... Madison East lost both of its contests in the Granite City Classic in St. Cloud, Minnesota... Madison La Follette hasn't played since December 20, and has lost five of its last six... after starting the season 0-5, Madison West has won four of its last six, although they dropped their only game last week, non-conference against West De Pere... Verona dropped a non-conference game to Edgewood.
THIS WEEK: Middleton takes a seven-game winning streak to Beloit Memorial Friday, followed by a non-conference game against Arrowhead at the Al McGuire Center on Saturday... Sun Prairie battles Madison Memorial on Wednesday night, with a home game against Verona to follow Friday... Madison Memorial, in addition to their big showdown Wednesday night, will play Janesville Parker at home on Friday... Madison East and Madison La Follette play Friday night in a rivalry game... La Follette will play Brookfield Academy on Tuesday night at home... Madison West plays Janesville Craig on Friday.

LAST WEEK: Waunakee remained undefeated, winning the West Allis Central Tournament with victories over Hartford and Franklin... Portage last played on December 20, a win over Sauk Prairie... DeForest lost both games of the tournament they hosted last week... Sauk Prairie won the third-place game at the Just A Game Fieldhouse in the Wisconsin Dells last week, beating Janesville Parker. They lost to eventual champion Regis in their first outing... Mount Horeb dropped a crossover game with Barneveld last week... Baraboo won a non-conference game against Milwaukee Career and Tech Ed... Reedsburg won the Westfield Tournament with wins over Pardeeville and Hayward.
THIS WEEK:-Waunakee will play Mount Horeb Friday before taking part in the #swingfam Showcase at the Just A Game Fieldhouse in the Wisconsin Dells against Burlington on Saturday... Portage has played just one game since December 10, but will play three games in the next week, including a conference game Friday against DeForest... DeForest and Reedsburg were scheduled to play Tuesday night, but the game was postponed... Sauk Prairie plays two non-conference games on the road this week, and will go from December 20 until January 17 without a home game... Mount Horeb plays three times in the next week, with two non-conference games in addition to their trip to Waunakee Friday night... Baraboo and Reedsburg play Friday night.

THIS WEEK: Edgewood plays Oregon Tuesday night (hear it on The Big 1070)... Edgewood takes on Lake Mills in the #swingfam Showcase on Saturday at the Just A Game Fieldhouse in the Wisconsin Dells... Monona Grove plays Edgewood Friday night... Stoughton heads to Monroe on Friday night... after Tuesday's game against Edgewood, Oregon will play Fort Atkinson on Friday and Watertown on Monday.
