MBB: Jalen Johnson picks Duke over Wisconsin, others

One of the nation's top high school basketball players, Jalen Johnson, announced on social media on Thursday that he will attend Duke. Johnson picked the Blue Devils over Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Arizona.

Johnson, who began his high school career at Sun Prairie before transferring to Nicolet (in Glendale), is a consensus top-15 player among the major recruiting services in the class of 2020. He led Sun Prairie to their first-ever state boy's basketball appearance as a sophomore before his family relocated to Glendale and the Nicolet Unified School District, and then helped lead Nicolet to a Division 2 state championship as a junior, scoring 20 points in the title game victory over Milwaukee Washington.

While Wisconsin fans had hoped he would stay home, Johnson joins a legion of other top Wisconsin high school basketball players to continue their careers at high-D1 schools, such as Tyler Herro (Kentucky) and J.P. Tokoto (North Carolina).
