Norbert Durst of WisSports.net discusses the emerging top programs across the state as the season is into the back half of the schedule, as well as the depth of most divisions and area conferences. Plus, a recap of last weekend's Badger Challenge.
On top teams: Divisions 3-5 are incredibly deep, and Durst figures 15 teams could be "ranked" if you wanted to include all of the state contenders. That depth can be found in area conferences at the small-school level, in leagues such as the Capitol, Six Rivers, and Trailways in southern Wisconsin. In the larger schools, the Big 8 is always a battle, and the Badger South has a three-way race atop the league with teams that are all currently or recently ranked. The Badger North has Beaver Dam, the top team in the state regardless of division.
