In a rematch of the 2017 Division 2 state championship won by Waunakee, Brookfield Central exacted some revenge in a 20-13 win over the Warriors to earn their fifth trip to state in school history.
Rashad Lampkin ran for two touchdowns and paced the Brookfield Central offense against a ball-hawking Waunakee defense that recorded three interceptions and a fumble recovery. However, the Lancers' defense played sound all night, forcing several three-and-outs and holding Waunakee to under 200 yards of offense in a Level 4 victory.
Brookfield Central will play Homestead for the Division 2 title. You can hear all seven state championship games on The Big 1070 on 100.9 FM and thebig1070.com/fm.
