Trailing 2-0 to Verona on Tuesday night, Sun Prairie dug deep to rally for a 3-2 win to stay atop the Big 8 Conference with only a couple of weeks left in the regular season.
Verona won the first two games 25-19 and 25-22, but Sun Prairie was able to turn it around with 25-23, 25-12, and 15-10 wins in the final three games to take the match from the Wildcats.
Coach T.J. Rantala says that the experience will really help the younger players, since the Cardinals only returned three players from last year. The atmosphere at Verona was unlike any they've seen in 2018, which will help as Sun Prairie presses on towards the conference championship and the postseason.
