Lake Mills battles Lakeside Lutheran in cross-street rivalry

Lake Mills won't have to go far to take on their in-town rivals, Lakeside Lutheran: The schools are across Main Street from one another, and on top of that, this week's game's winner will clinch a playoff spot.

Both teams are 5-1 overall with 2-0 records in the Capitol North, and both teams have yet to play defending Division 4 state champion Lodi.

Dan Ferkovich, coach at Lake Mills, says that these teams know each other incredibly well, given their battles across multiple sports with the current core group of players over the past couple of years. That's why looking at each team's respective difficult schedule to this point might not matter as much as it would in a different game, and Ferkovich also is all-in on using the rivalry as motivation for the week.
