It was announced on Wednesday that Trevor Bayne would not be back as a driver of the No. 6 at Roush Fenway Racing, which he shared this year with Matt Kenseth. Early speculation has Kenseth taking over full-time next year.
According to NASCAR.com, team owner Jack Roush says that the decision on the next driver of the car "has been made" but wasn't able to confirm to the media.
Roush did not confirm whether the team was bringing Kenseth back full time, or if it had targeted another driver.
“I want a driver that can be fast,” he said when asked what he’s looking for in the next driver of the No. 6.
