Lake Mills played a difficult non-conference schedule, going 3-1 so far this season, but will begin Capitol North play against 4-0 Poynette. Five of the six teams in the Capitol North went 3-1 or 4-0 in non-conference play. (The sixth, Columbus, lost on a late throw against state-ranked Platteville last week).
Coach Dan Ferkovich hopes that the difficult non-conference schedule has prepared them for an even more ridiculous conference slate, which includes a game against the defending state champions in Division 4, Lodi, in October.
Poynette presents big challenges up front, and the solid Pumas' defense won't make it easy on the Lake Mills offense, which has had a bit of inconsistency as of late, says coach Ferkovich.
