Madison Memorial scored on a last-second Hail Mary pass to take down Middleton and improve to 4-0 on the season, making them the sole leader of the Big 8 Conference nearly halfway through the season. The Spartans beat the Cardinals 30-27.
Madison Memorial AD Jeremy Schiltz caught the game-winning play on video, in which Jason Ceniti heaved one up from 27 yards out. Memorial receivers somehow came up with the pass to give the Spartans the win and the outright lead in the Big 8.
Memorial has now defeated Sun Prairie, last year's champ, and Middleton, last year's runner-up, in the Big 8.
