Hosting the Sun Prairie Invitational, the Cardinals went 7-1 in the event against some of the better programs in the state, setting up Sun Prairie for their run through the Big 8.
Coach T.J. Rantala was particularly happy with how the matches turned out, because the Cardinals are replacing several graduated players from last year's team. Although Sun Prairie missed the initial Coaches' Poll of the season, the Cardinals are off to a good start regardless.
The Cardinals have to replace 10 of their top 13 players from last year.
