After a big win at the Early Bird Invite in Watertown, in which Waunakee dropped only one game in going 5-0 at the event, Warriors coach Anne Denkert talks about how the team will use that experience moving forward in the season.
Looking at the level of competition, Denkert was surprised by how consistent and how well the team played up front, and after an opening game loss, the Warriors didn't lose again, winning 10 straight games to go 5-0 and clinch the victory in Watertown.
While early-season matches offer plenty of areas to highlight for improvement, Denkert credits the leadership of the team and the overwhelming experience brought back by last year's state trip as big factors for how well things are going early on.
