Last year's Big 8 champions, Sun Prairie, rolled all the way to Camp Randall Stadium before falling in the D1 championship to Kimberly. The Cardinals begin their conference championship title defense Friday against Madison Memorial.
Coach Brian Kaminski says that last year is over and done with, and it's up to this year's players to continue the legacy that goes back not only to last year, but the entire history of Sun Prairie football. While the Cardinals graduated plenty of talent on both sides of the ball, they'll be anchored defensively by returning starters such as Hakeem McCullers and Ethan Ackley, and on offense with Cooper Nelson and Ben Johnson back in the fold.
