The Madison Mallards have announced their full promotional schedule for the 2018 season. The schedule is complete with fireworks shows, noteworthy bobbleheads, exciting theme nights and hysterical entertainment acts. This year will also feature exciting promotions specific to the Great Dane Duck Blind.
Great Dane Duck Blind Promotions:
After a successful renovation in 2017, the Mallards are excited to announce a promotional lineup that will be exclusive to the Great Dane Duck Blind General Admission.
Grab your friends now for exciting theme nights that will feature trivia, great prizes, costume contests and so much more: Stranger Things (June 14), 90’s Night & Anti-Adulting Night (July 3), Harry Potter (July 29), and Star Wars (August 4).
Wednesdays are un-beer-lievable in the Great Dane Duck Blind! Each Wednesday will feature a local brewery who will be handing out samples, giveaways, and other great beer related promotions.
Bring your dancing shoes on Saturdays as the Mallards welcome a DJ to the Hangover Bar for six Saturday night games.
New this year, the Mallards will be hosting Pride Night in the Great Dane Duck Blind. The Mallards will welcome LGBTQ organizations and provide a fun, friendly, and inclusive atmosphere to all fans.
And if all-you-can-eat and drink isn’t a great enough deal, this year we will feature many great ticket specials. Take your experience up a notch with Basic Pitches Mimosa Sundays on June 3 and July 15. Want to express your creative side while at the ballpark? Now’s your chance at our UPaint and Party event. Paint a unique baseball themed painting pre-game while you enjoy the great selection of beverages and then take in the game! Finally, take home great Mallards gear with our Fan Frenzy specials featuring hat and t-shirt deals.
Bobbleheads:
The Mallards are featuring seven notable bobbleheads this season. The lineup features four local celebrities - actor and comedian Chris Farley, presented by Dentistry for Madison: Dr. Jay Hazen (June 8), former Badger and current Pittsburgh Steeler TJ Watt, presented by Festival Foods (June 10), Olympic Gold Medalist and McFarland native Matt Hamilton (July 4), and former Mallard and current Houston Astro Derek Fisher (August 2). The lineup also features kid friendly bobbleheads including unicorn-riding Mystical Maynard, presented by Pepsi (June 28), Troll Maynard presented by The Great Dane (July 15), and Harry Potter’s best friend Hermillone, presented by Zimbrick Honda (July 29). The entire bobblehead line up in 2018 is presented by WKOW TV.
Fireworks:
The Mallards will be hosting six post-game fireworks shows for the 2018 season. We’ll light up the sky on the following Saturday nights: June 9 (presented by Budweiser), July 14 (presented by Hy-Vee), July 21 (presented by Zimbrick Honda), and July 28. The Mallards will also feature a special Independence week celebration beginning on Tuesday, July 3 with a post-game concert by 90’s cover band Run Forest Run, presented by MGE, followed by fireworks presented by LSM Chiropractic. Celebrate the 4th of July with a day game, beginning at 1:05 PM. The fun wraps up on Thursday, July 5 with a post-game concert by Pat McCurdy presented by Endres Manufacturing followed by fireworks presented by Pepsi.
Theme Nights:
The Mallards have packed the 2018 season with new and exciting theme nights. Some highlighted theme nights include; Dentistry of Madison: Dr. Jay Hazen Star Wars Night (August 4), Superhero Night (June 19), Harry Potter Night (July 29) and Fitness Night (July 10).
Entertainment Acts:
The Mallards are excited to welcome new and exciting entertainment acts this summer. Making their first trips to the Duck Pond will be Apollo Magic fire show (May 29), Team Zoom Canine Entertainment (June 30), and Illusionist Glen Gerard (August 11). Fan favorites, the ZOOperstars! will return again for two performances (June 15 and August 1).
Special Events:
The Mallards will host the 6th Annual Northwoods League Major League Dreams Showcase on Tuesday, August 7th. The event will feature the Top 100 Players in the NWL in a doubleheader at 4:05 pm and 7:35 pm. The players will be selected by Major League Baseball scouts and the Northwoods League.
The Mallards open their season at home on Tuesday, May 29th at 6:05 PM against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. Group tickets for the 2018 season are on sale now.
