Like most spring sports, winter weather has altered the season and schedule for area teams. Mount Horeb coach Mark Newman looks forward to the challenge of playing almost exclusively conference games for the next two and a half weeks.
After a Saturday tilt with one of their WIAA Tournament rivals, Sugar River, the Vikings will reel off nearly their entire conference schedule from May 1 to May 17. Coach Newman says his team will have to find experience in short order to navigate that difficult stretch, especially on defense.
In addition, Newman says that the cancellations forced off most of their non-conference schedule, but hopes that with so many games coming up in the next four weeks, that the team can find a groove as the season gets busy.
