In one of the state's biggest match-ups on Thursday night, #4 Beloit Turner topped #3 Jefferson 10-8, just two days after Jefferson beat Turner 3-2. Turner coach Jeff Clowes talked about the victory, and how he thought that as the week progressed, that his players were starting to find some form.
One of the biggest highlights was an eight-run second inning, punctuated by a grand slam. Clowes also credited his pitcher, Preston Viens, for a solid relief effort against one of the best teams in Wisconsin.
With the win, Turner and Jefferson split their regular-season series.
