Winter weather wiped out the first few weeks of the baseball schedule and now Madison Memorial, along with the other Big 8 baseball teams, will be working overtime to make up those games in the next few weeks.
The Spartans will play several games this week, including doubleheaders on Wednesday and Saturday. Coach Tim Richardson describes the unique challenges of a year like this, battling the weather, but detailed how the coaching staff adapted practices to work when no games would be played. Richardson also discusses how he helps his players avoid fatigue or injury from overuse, especially in the pitching staff, when playing a condensed schedule.
