Verona's defense made some costly mistakes in an 8-5 loss to Middleton in a clash of ranked teams in Division 1 on Tuesday night. Wildcats coach Brad D'Orazio said as much in his postgame comments to The Big 1070.
D'Orazio was upbeat about the offense, noting that all but one spot in the order got on base, and that Verona had chances at the end. Pitching was solid in stretches as well, but multiple errors, both fielding and throwing, made the task all the more difficult against one of the top teams in the state.
