Sun Prairie makes its first-ever trip to state in boy's basketball to highlight Madison-area teams making it to Madison for the championships.
Other area teams advancing include Deerfield (Trailways) and East Troy (Rock Valley).
The state championships begin with the semifinals in D3 and D4 on Thursday, March 15, with D5, D2, and D1 semifinals on Friday, March 16. Five state champions will be crowned at the Kohl Center in Madison on Saturday, March 17.
Sun Prairie earned a #2 seed in Division 1 and will play Brookfield East on Friday night at 8:15 p.m. #2 East Troy survived a rugged bracket in Division 3 and will take on #3 Prescott. Deerfield also earned a #2 seed, in Division 5, and will play #3 McDonell Central (Chippewa Falls).
Madison East, Monona Grove, Edgerton, Wisconsin Dells, and Mineral Point lost their sectional finals on Saturday.
