Monroe is back at state, and their draw in the Division 2 semifinals is New Berlin Eisenhower, a team they beat 65-47 very early in the season. Coach Sam Mathiason says, though, that the early-season meeting doesn't necessarily mean a whole lot now:

The new seeding procedure slotted Monroe in the #2 spot behind #1 Beaver Dam, who beat the Cheesemakers in the Badger Challenge in January at Stoughton. Coach Mathiason was happy with the process overall, but thinks it will take some time to get used to:
Coach Mathiason also believes that the rugged Badger Conference, with Stoughton, Monona Grove, Oregon, and others in the Badger South, not to mention the depth of the Badger North with Beaver Dam, Waunakee, Reedsburg, and others at the top, helped prepare the team for their state trip:
