Mineral Point had a second-half lead evaporate and fell for the second time in the WBY Shootout, 70-65 to Roncalli.
For the second straight game, Mineral Point battled right to the end. After falling 73-68 to Martin Luther the day prior, Mineral Point held a lead for much of the game, but Roncalli was able to sink free throws down the stretch to complete the rally.
Coach Dan Burreson said after the game that the experience should help his young squad, which features two freshmen in the rotation, including Brayden Dailey, who had a fast-break dunk to punctuate an early second-half basket, and two sophomores, with Isaac Lindsey perhaps the only Pointer who has had experience on a stage like the WBY Shootout.
