Nigel Hayes among 67 expected to attend NBA Draft Combine

Former Wisconsin men's basketball standout Nigel Hayes is among 67 NBA hopefuls expected to attend this week's 2017 NBA Draft Combine, as players began reporting to the Quest Center in Chicago on Tuesday.

The NBA Draft Combine is the first step in the NBA Draft process for prospective professional athletes. The event features five-on-five games as well as strength and agility drills at Chicago's Quest Multisport on Thursday and Friday.

Events on Thursday and Friday will be televised by ESPN2. The event can also be live-streamed on WatchESPN and NBA.com.

Hayes attended last year's NBA Draft Combine to gather information and analysis about his pro prospects before making the decision to return to Wisconsin for his senior season. The forward from Toledo, Ohio, was a 2017 Third-Team All-Big Ten honoree after he started all 37 games and led the Badgers to their fourth consecutive Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA tournament.

Hayes finished his collegiate career ranked third on UW's all-time scoring list (1,857 points) and he is the only Badger in school history to rank among the school's top-10 list for points, rebounds and assists. Hayes is just the second player in Big Ten Conference history to tally at least 1,800 points, 700 rebounds and 300 assists in his career.
