On the first night of conference play in the WIAC, in men's basketball, there were two upsets as #17 UW-River Falls took down #7 UW-Eau Claire. and UW-La Crosse handed #11 UW-Whitewater its first loss of the season. In women's hoops, #13 UW-Oshkosh and #21 UW-Whitewater picked up wins.

Games for Saturday, January 7
Men at Eau Claire (5pm): Both top-ranked teams in the WIAC lost their conference opener on Wednesday, so either #11 Whitewater (11-1, 0-1) or #7 Eau Claire (10-2, 0-1) will open up WIAC play with two losses.
Women at Whitewater (3pm): The winner between #21 Whitewater (11-1, 1-0) and Eau Claire (7-5, 1-0) will have a tie with either Stout or Oshkosh for the conference lead just two games into the season.
Men at La Crosse (5pm): La Crosse (9-3, 1-0) just upset Whitewater and looks to start 2-0 in conference play as they take on Stevens Point (6-5, 0-1), who lost by 5 to Oshkosh on Wednesday.
Women at Stevens Point (3pm): Both teams had narrow losses against ranked competition on Wednesday. Stevens Point (8-4, 0-1) led in the second half but lost to #13 Oshkosh, while La Crosse (6-6, 0-1) took #21 Whitewater to overtime before falling.
Men at Platteville (5pm): #17 River Falls (11-1, 1-0) just defeated #7 Eau Claire on Wednesday, and they'll look to keep rolling along against Platteville (7-5, 0-1), who lost a close game to Stout on Wednesday.
Women at River Falls (3pm): The winning team will be in a four-way tie for second while the losing team will be 0-2. Platteville (4-8, 0-1) was dominated from the second quarter on by Stout on Wednesday, while River Falls (5-7, 0-1) was never really in it against Eau Claire.
Men at Oshkosh (5pm): The winning team will be 2-0 after one week of conference play. Oshkosh (8-4, 1-0) and Stout (10-2, 1-0) both held off good efforts from their opponents in the opening WIAC game.
Women at Stout (3pm): #13 Oshkosh (11-1, 1-0) and Stout (5-7, 1-0) both took part in the same showcase last week in the Wisconsin Dells. While the Titans have been ranked all year and are figured to be a top contender in the conference, the Blue Devils picked up a comfortable win against Platteville on Wednesday. The winner will be tied with either Whitewater or Eau Claire for the early-season conference lead.
